Alphonse Mellot at the Domaine de La Moussière in Sancerre. An incredible "terroir", the best producer of Sancerre.

Philippe Foreau at the Clos Naudin in Vouvray. The intense, fresh and full-bodied bouquets of Chenin . One of the 2 finest Vouvrays.

Michel Gendrier at the Domaine des Huards in Cour-Cheverny. A perfectionist in wine-making and aging, he brings out the full finesse of his bio-dynamically produced whites from Romorantin.

Philippe Boucard at the Domaine des Chesnaies in Bourgueil. From one of the most impressive caves in the region and one of the longest family traditions, he produces structured wines which age well and increase in complexity.

Couly-Duteil in Chinon and Saumur Champigny. The new generation of this reputable wine-making concern makes fruity wines as well as vintage wines to keep.

Mme de Jessey at the Domaine du Closel in Savennières. is very demanding of the flint soils, uses a winemaking process that gives the Chenin a very pure expression when young, which becomes more complex with ageing.

Joël Gigou is on of the best producers from the tiny region of Jasnières (40 km. north of Tours). His Chenin Blanc wines are pure and mineral with a delicious bouquet of honey and white flowers.
